Mike & Kerstin Wakely

In their 35 years of missionary service with
Operation Mobilisation, mostly in South Asia,
Mike and Kerstin Wakely were often faced with
the needs of the poor and the hurting. It seemed
so unjust that many suffer when just a little help
can make all the difference. Mike and Kerstin
began working with their network of national
contacts to provide help.
Starfish Asia is the result of that concern.
Registered with the UK Charity Commissioners
in 2003, the fund provides resources to known
and trusted Christian believers to provide
material, spiritual and educational help to people
who are poor, hurting and in need in Pakistan
and other South Asian countries.
It is that network of trusted partners in South
Asia who are the key to our usefulness -- they
are the ones rescuing starfish. Please click
on each of their projects listed here and see
how much is being accomplished through
these dedicated men and women.
Mike is author of two books. Contact
Mike if you would like a copy. (We
regret we cannot send to South Asia)
Generosity
Mike takes a look at the importance of
being givers in a greedy world -- and
the blessing that we miss if we have
never learned to give.
Can it be True?
Mike shares honestly
from his own experience
the struggle to maintain
faith in the presence of
doubt.

Trevor Alexander

Trevor Alexander lived and worked in Karachi
in 1981-83 and has been a regular visitor to
Pakistan for the past ten years as a Bible
teacher. Over time he became increasingly
involved in compassionate ministries with the
Pakistani Christian community.
For fifteen years Trevor ran his own insurance
business, which he sold in 2007, leaving him
free to give more time to preaching, teaching
and representing Starfish Asia. He became
co-Director and full-time worker with Starfish
Asia in 2009. He is an elder in his home church
and lives in Northern Ireland.

Provision of education for young people is
an urgent priority and I am delighted that
Starfish Asia is doing this, in Christ's name,
for the poorest of the poor in Pakistan. I
pray that God will richly bless their work
and those whom it seeks to help.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Michael Nazir-Ali, Bishop of Rochester

I have followed the ministry of Starfish Asia
from its birth, and have full confidence in
what they are doing in Pakistan. The fact
that Mike has personal contact with so
many of those who receive help is an
outstanding feature in this ministry. It
deserves our support. Drena and I support
this ministry and long to do much more.
George Verwer, Founder of Operation Mobilisation

I visited some of the Starfish Asia projects
in Pakistan in 2006 and was deeply moved
by the schools I visited. This is a wonderful
work led by an amazingly dedicated team.
