building projects
The Starfish Asia Fund only engages in construction projects and property purchases
when they distinctly contribute to the welfare of the poor. Wherever property is
purchased or built it is owned in absolute right by the Society or Trust (or in some cases
the individual) who will use it for the relief of poverty. The Starfish Asia Fund owns no
property.

- The Starfish Asia fund purchased and provided funding for renovation of the building that is
now the permanent home of the Lahore Christian College. The School building is owned by
the Fellowship of Christ, a locally registered Trust.
- £4,000 / $8,000 is required to build a church-cum-school building in a poor Christian slum
area, known as Niagara Town in Lahore. A fine congregation of believers, led by a dedicated
pastor, meets in the open air in someone's home. The Starfish Asia fund arranged the
purchase of a plot of land and has been requested to help with the building.
- The roof of the Church of Pakistan church in Chak 113, where Sohail Samuel runs the
Sambhal Education Centre, is falling down. The Church expects no financial help from the
diocese to make essential repairs. The Starfish Asia fund would like to help -- part of our
contribution tot he village community to which we are already so committed.
- The Baptist Church in the Mianwali Colony in north Karachi -- close to the Holy Shepherd
Grammar School -- is a shell under construction. The pastor is on the board of the school.
They need about £2,000 / $3,500 to finish the church to the point that it can be used for
worship. Why shouldn't the Christians of Mianwali Colony have such a building? The Starfish
Asia fund is trying to help.
